ELKTON, Ky. – An Elkton man is facing charges related to engaging in organized crime, drug possession and endangering the welfare of a minor.
The Todd County Sheriff’s Office located a man linked to a drug investigation by the Pennyrile Drug Task Force on Thursday.
Deputies say that they arrived at a residence on West Jefferson Davis Highway and located Jeremy Wilson, 30 of Elkton. When Wilson opened the front door of the residence, deputies say they smelled a strong odor of marijuana.
Police notified Wilson that video footage exists of him loading suspected marijuana into a vehicle on August 9 at a residence. The weight of the marijuana is suspected to be over 25 pounds.
According to a citation, Wilson admitted to loading the bags and feeling from Todd County Sheriff Tracy White. White says the pursuit was over 118 miles per hour.
Wilson allowed deputies to enter the residence. Deputies located marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Four juveniles were inside the residence. One of the juveniles admitted to smoking marijuana with Wilson.
Wilson was placed into custody and is lodged at the Todd County Jail.
Wilson is charged with unlawful transaction with a minor 2nd degree, endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia buy/possess, fleeing or evading police 1st degree, wanton endangerment 1st degree-police officer, trafficking in marijuana (> 5 pounds) 1st offense, and engaging in organized crime.
Two other individuals have been charged in the investigation.
