PLAIN CITY – The Plain City Village Council will meet in regular session today at the Village Building, 800 Village Blvd., at 6:30 p.m.

Following reports from the various departments, boards and commissions, on the agenda at today’s PCVC meeting will be the second reading and vote on a resolution to authorize the village administrator to apply for Safe Routes to School Project funding. There are no other second readings for ordinances or resolutions slated for today.

However, there are number of new business items on the agenda and the first readings will be held on a number of ordinances and resolutions, to include:

Amending Chapter 509.10 of the village code regarding Excessive Noise;
Approving a 2023 supplemental budget update and requesting a waiver of a second reading of the ordinance;
Establishing a moratorium on the cultivation, processing and retail sale of adult-use cannabis within the village limits;
Ratifying a purchase agreement with the Info Depot, LLC for the Plain City Historic Depot and requesting a waiver of the second reading of the resolution;
Amending the wage scale of the employees of Plain City police department.

Following the completion of the agenda, the Plain City Village Council is expected to break into executive session for two reasons, the first to consider information related to economic development assistance and the second to prepare for negotiations with public employees concerning their compensation.
