(St. Paul, MN) — Thousands of misdemeanor marijuana convictions are no longer part of the Minnesota crime database.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says nearly 58,000 low-level convictions have been purged from the state’s Criminal History System following last year’s passage of the Adult-Use Cannabis Act. The agency says reviewers determined that just over 200 cases were not eligible for expungement.
The Cannabis Expungement Board is also reviewing state felony convictions to determine if action should be taken under the new law.
