ALTON—A 31-year-old Holdingford, MN, woman was arrested about 9:40 p.m. Thursday, May 16, near Alton on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence, second-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and child endangerment.

The arrest of Sarah Anne Messenbrink stemmed from the stop of a southbound 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix on the Highway 60 expressway near Alton, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.

Messenbrink admitted to smoking marijuana before driving her vehicle and being in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and unprescribed prescription drugs, according to the incident report.

She failed field sobriety tests.

Her 11-year-old son was a passenger in the vehicle.
