DEFIANCE COUNTY, Ohio (WFFT) — A man could face charges after agents from the Multi-Area Narcotics Task Force found him illegally growing marijuana plants.

Task Force agents and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to a residence in Defiance County’s Mark Township.

Agents say they seized 35 marijuana plants, which is more than five times the legal amount allowed at a single resident’s home.

Agents remind Ohio residents that no more than six cannabis plants can be grown, cultivated or possessed at a single home.

Individuals younger than 21 years old are not allowed to possess or access cannabis plants.

Agents also say cannabis plants can only be grown or cultivated in a secured closet, room, greenhouse or other enclosed area at a home.

A file will be presented to the Defiance County Prosecuting Attorney against the man and for consideration of charges.
