ROCHESTER, Minn. – A man accused of causing a collision that injured two people while under the influence of marijuana has pleaded not guilty.

Don Cornelius Perry Morgan Jr., 26 of Rochester, is now scheduled to stand trial starting January 21, 2025, for four counts of criminal vehicular operation and one count of DWI.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Morgan was driving a car on April 16, 2023, when he crossed the center line and crashed into a pickup truck hauling a trailer.  State troopers say the collision happened around 5:17 pm near mile marker 56 on U.S. Highway 52 in Olmsted County.

Court documents state Morgan admitted to smoking marijuana right before driving and a blood test found THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, in Morgan’s blood.

The State Patrol says the driver of the pickup truck suffered a bruised left wrist in the crash while a passenger in the truck received a concussion and whiplash.
