GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – The Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) made a significant breakthrough in the fight against illegal drug activity with the successful takedown of a large-scale marijuana grow operation on Friday, April 9, in the county’s southwest region.

According to GCSO, during the raid, authorities seized approximately 5,200 marijuana plants, around 400 pounds of processed marijuana, $8,000 in cash, and four firearms. Three individuals are currently facing multiple felony charges related to the operation.

The Sheriff’s Office credited the bust to ongoing efforts aimed at ensuring public safety and maintaining Grady County as a safe place to live and raise families. “This operation is a great example of what can be accomplished as we work to protect our communities,” officials stated.

Further details on the suspects and pending charges are expected to be released following the conclusion of the investigation.
