Katie Price recently claimed that CBD oils helped one of her friend’s daughter ‘heal herself’ from a tumour.
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a chemical compound found in the cannabis plant, known for its potential health benefits, including pain relief and anxiety reduction.
CBD can be found in various products online and in stores, including dietary supplements, bath soaks, drinks, and food.
But can it really cure cancer?
Price posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Very serious chat with
@serenasophiax and @afowler06 about their 2 year old daughter who had a tumour in her leg, they refused hospital treatment and healed her themselves which is amazing they was telling me all about @supreme_cbd and how it works for fibromyalgia, arthritis, anxiety/depression any aches/pains or insomnia, I literally get people thanking me everyday this is started posting, I asked @supreme_cbd

The post quickly caught the attention of community notes, which said: “While there is research into the effect that cannabis and CBD may have on cancer, there is currently no scientific results showing a relation between CBD use and reducing cancer.”
The self-titled ‘ad’ from Price was quickly slammed by other users.
Some called it ‘abhorrent’. Others called it ‘highly dangerous and irresponsible.

“CBD does show promise for the management of some cancer-related symptoms, including pain and anxiety, however, more research into the appropriate amounts of CBD and its effects on humans is necessary.
“The problem with these stories (of CBD curing cancer), and any anecdotal evidence, is that it’s difficult to know whether you have all of the facts. It’s impossible to make any kind of judgement without knowing about the type of cancer, what other treatment was involved and the person’s medical history.
“This is why research and regulated clinical trials are so important. They enable us to make informed decisions on what treatments are likely to work best based on solid evidence.”
