PRIMGHAR—A 20-year-old Primghar woman was arrested about 12:20 p.m. Sunday, April 27, on a charge of first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana.
The arrest of Kayla Marie Towe stemmed from a request for a welfare check on her at her apartment, Unit 3 at Birch View Apartments in Primghar, according to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
Towe opened the door and the strong odor of marijuana could be detected from her apartment.
She was asked if there was any marijuana in the apartment, and Towe said there was not but a friend had smoked marijuana in the apartment the night before, according to the incident report.
A search warrant was obtained, and two containers of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for marijuana, a rubber container with suspected THC wax and several vaping pens were seized.
