A Valhalla pet owner is urging marijuana users to be more mindful about their consumption.
Francine Berger said she had to take her 4-month-old puppy to the emergency room last week after he began having seizures and was unable to hold his urine.
She said the doctors at the animal hospital told her that her puppy was under the influence of marijuana.
Berger told News 12 that she thinks her cockapoo was exposed to the cannabis while they were leaving a local mall.
Although she swears she didn’t see anything harmful on the ground, she is now urging cannabis connoisseurs to be more careful as they consume.
“If you want to use marijuana for yourself, use it for yourself, but don’t throw it, discard it, take care of it. You’re going to contaminate other people, unknowingly,” Berger said.
