BEAUMONT, Texas — A Beaumont man was arrested Thursday after police seized approximately 10 pounds of suspected marijuana and two handguns during a narcotics investigation, according to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department.
On the morning of May 22, narcotics detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Texas Avenue with the assistance of the department’s SWAT team, K-9 unit, and Special Assignment Unit.
The operation was part of an investigation into possible narcotics trafficking.
During the search, officers discovered a substantial amount of suspected marijuana along with two firearms, police said.
The home’s sole occupant, 49-year-old Derrick Guilbeaux, was taken into custody at the scene. He was arrested for possession of marijuana and booked into the Jefferson County Jail.
