A California man was arrested Friday in connection with a marijuana trafficking operation at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport. The suspect, identified as Christian Machado, 22, of Fresno, California, was apprehended following an investigation by Birmingham Police Department Vice/Narcotics detectives. Birmingham Police Homicide detectives presented the case information to the Jefferson County Magistrate’s Office, which issued a warrant for trafficking marijuana against Machado.
Machado is currently in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail, held on a $500,000 bond.
