A Monmouth County man has been charged after a 3-month investigation in drug distribution including in Brick, authorities said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Monmouth County man has been charged with drug distribution after large amounts of cocaine, psilocybin, marijuana and THC products were seized from his home and a storage unit, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said Thursday.

Gary Dwayne Johnson, 45, of Allentown, was arrested May 28 following a three-month investigation into drug distribution in Ocean County, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

The investigation led detectives to identify Johnson’s home and a storage facility in Trenton as being used to store and distribute the drugs, authorities said.

On May 28, authorities watched him travel from his home to Asbury Park and as he got out of his vehicle in Asbury Park, they arrested him, the prosecutor’s office said.

Search warrants executed at the home and the storage facility turned up about 600 grams of cocaine, 34.5 pounds of marijuana, 3 pounds of THC products, 47 ounces of psilocybin, and $60,000 in cash, the prosecutor’s office said.

Johnson was charged with distribution of more than 5 pounds but less than 25 pounds of marijuana; possession of more than 25 pounds of marijuana with intent to distribute; conspiracy to distribute more than 25 pounds of marijuana; possession of more than 5 ounces of cocaine with intent to distribute; possession of more than 1 pound but less than 5 pounds of hashish with intent to distribute; possession of psilocybin with intent to distribute; possession of cocaine; possession of psilocybin; possession of a firearm during a controlled dangerous substance offense; financial facilitation, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is being held at the Ocean County Jail.

Billhimer said the investigation included the following units and agencies: the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Asset Forfeiture Unit, Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Brick Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit, Allentown Police Department, and City of Trenton Fire Department.
