EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — A man was arrested and charged with dealing marijuana after a shooting investigation led to a traffic stop in Evansville.

Officers say they were in an area of South Linwood Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday when they heard between six and nine gunshots.

No injuries were reported in the shooting, but police said a vehicle was damaged.

While police were investigating the incident, they say several vehicles began to leave the area.

Officers stopped one of the vehicles, and identified the driver as 20-year-old Darryl Fulgham.

EPD says Fulgham told officers he didn’t have any firearms, but that a search revealed a handgun under his seat. A digital scale was also found in the center console of the vehicle.

Police say Fulgham smelled like marijuana, and that two bags of marijuana were found on him, along with about $1,100 cash.

Fulgham was arrested and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of dealing marijuana, and driving without a license.
