BETHEL, Ohio (WKRC) — Village leaders in Bethel are set to vote on Tuesday on a measure that could permanently prohibit recreational marijuana dispensaries, cultivators, or processors.
This decision comes as an emergency measure, with the current temporary moratorium set to expire on June 27.
The moratorium, initially enacted last January, has already been extended twice. Bethel had previously banned medical marijuana in 2017.
If the permanent ban is approved, any future business seeking to operate in the marijuana industry would require a variance. However, as of now, no marijuana businesses have expressed interest in setting up in the village.
