JACKSON, Tenn. — Local cannabis activists gathered in downtown Jackson for the grand opening of a new hemp store.

Hub City Hemp opened it’s 3rd location earlier Friday. The new location is located in downtown Jackson at 111 East Lafayette Street.

The event hosted food trucks along with seven acts of live music. Organizers say it’s important to hold these event to help spread awareness for legalizing cannabis.

“We’re not in competition with nobody, we want to work with all the local businesses. We want to find out what we can help them do and what they can help us do. It is not about competition, we want everybody to make money,” said Larry B. Green, spokesperson for Hub City Hemp and cannabis activist.

Larry also plans to convert the former Miss Ollie’s building into a special place for everyone. But they are saving the announcements for a later date.
