Police in southern Indiana arrested Garland Miller for drug charges after finding meth and marijuana during a traffic stop.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A southern Indiana man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs.

Garland Miller, 45 of Branchville, charges include dealing and possession of meth along with dealing and possession of marijuana.

According to Indiana State Police, a trooper was patrolling State Road 145 near Eckerty in Crawford County on Friday when they stopped Miller for a headlight violation.

Miller identified himself but during the stop, the trooper “recognized indicators of criminal activity” and called for K-9 assistance.

When a Crawford County deputy and a K-9 arrived, an open-air sniff of the vehicle took place. The K-9 gave a positive indication of narcotics, and a full search of the vehicle was conducted.

Police found two 19-gram bags of suspected meth, and another bag containing suspected marijuana.

Miller was arrested and taken to the Crawford County Jail.

He is also facing maintaining a common nuisance and violation of driving conditions.
