On Friday, May 30, Kinston Police Department’s D-Squad officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 70 West leading to the arrest of two individuals on drug-related charges.
At around 11 a.m., officers with the KPD, with the assistance of K-9 Kilo, found that the driver, Michael Bridgers Jr, 26, of Macclesfield, was found in possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana, according to officials.
Bridgers was arrested under the following charges:
Possession With Intent to Sell/Deliver MarijuanaSell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled SubstanceFelony Possession of CocainePossession of Drug ParaphernaliaPossession of Marijuana Paraphernalia
A passenger that was in the vehicle with Bridgers, Robert Cannon, 33, of Macclesfield, was arrested and charged with:
Possession of MethamphetaminePossession of Drug Paraphernalia
They were both transported to the Lenoir County Jail and are being held under secured bonds.
