A Leesburg teen was arrested after marijuana and THC resin was found in his vehicle during a traffic stop for speeding.

An officer spotted the driver of a vehicle, later identified as 18-year-old Collin Lee Lenker, speeding westbound on State Road 44 in the area of Village Drive around 10 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. Radar confirmed its speed to be 62 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone.

The officer then conducted a traffic stop and approached Lenker, the report said. As they spoke, the officer could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. He asked Lenker why he could smell marijuana, to which he stated, “I smoked earlier.”

When asked if there was any more in the vehicle, Lenker reached for a compartment on the dash in front of the shifter. The officer told him not to reach, and he admitted there was probably a “roach.” He was asked to step out of the vehicle, to which he and the passenger complied, the report said.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed two burnt rolled cigarettes with marijuana inside them, the report said. On the front passenger-side floorboard was a white backpack containing a baggie with 15.22 grams of marijuana. There was also a jar with 4.93 grams of THC resin that was labeled “Backpackboyz Live Resin Sugar.” The total weight for both was 20.15 grams, the report said.

Under the front passenger seat, the officer found a pink Playboy metal tray with marijuana on it, the report said.

After being detained and read his rights, Lenker advised that he did not know what hemp was and did not think there was any CBD in the vehicle. The green leafy substance was marijuana, which he bought in Leesburg. He purchased the resin sugar from the internet, the report said.

Lenker was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana (over 20 grams). He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center with bond set at $2,500.
