TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – A voluntary recall has been issued for specific marijuana products in Arizona due to possible contamination with Aspergillus, a fungus that can cause allergic reactions or infections, especially in individuals with preexisting conditions.

The affected product is Odo, Batch PHX1164-ODO. The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) advises consumers to dispose of these products, as laboratory tests confirmed Aspergillus presence.

“No confirmed illnesses have been reported,” said ADHS. The recall is a precautionary measure. Consumers who purchased these products should not ingest, inhale, or use them and are advised to dispose of them safely. If symptoms occur, such as asthma-like symptoms, fever, or chest pain, individuals should contact their healthcare provider or seek emergency care.

Upon discovering the potential contamination, ADHS contacted the production facility. The licensee promptly collaborated with distribution and retail partners to remove the affected products from shelves.

For inquiries, consumers are encouraged to contact the establishment where they purchased the recalled products. Testing requirements for marijuana products are detailed in the Arizona Administrative Code for Adult-Use and Medical Marijuana Programs.
