TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – More than 800 hemp products were removed from a Tallulah smoke shop in eastern Tallahassee Wednesday for allegedly violating child protective standards, according to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
The removal of the products at the store, located at 2901 E Park Avenue, was part of a statewide sweep of hemp retailers, “Operation Safe Summer.”
The operation includes “inspections of hemp retailers and manufacturers in 20 Florida counties,” the department wrote in a press release Tuesday.
It’s part of an ongoing operation to ensure shops in Florida are following strict rules in developing child-resistant packaging.
