A Northwest Arkansas family is expanding its medical marijuana holdings after state regulators signed off Thursday on Jessica Trulove’s purchase of Newport cultivator Revolution Cannabis.
Jessica Trulove is the wife of Matt Trulove, who owns 20% of Osage Creek Cultivation in Berryville. Mary Trulove, Matt’s Trulove’s mother, owns 55% of the Berryville cultivation business, and other family members own the rest.
Jay Trulove, Jessica Trulove’s father-in-law, is the sole owner of Osage Creek Dispensary, which the state Medical Marijuana Commission recently gave permission to move from Eureka Springs to Springdale.
Last year, the commission approved Jessica Trulove’s purchase of a Clarksville dispensary, Enlightened Cannabis for People. Trulove’s proposed purchase of the Newport cultivation facility also appeared on the commission’s agenda at the time but the request was pulled by the applicant before it was considered by the commission.
The previous owners of Revolution Cannabis were Tamika Edwards of Little Rock and Dustin Shroyer of Illinois.
The commission also approved a small ownership change at Alexander dispensary Custom Cannabis. Donna Mooney of Little Rock will transfer half of her 10% ownership to Donald Keith Mooney of Little Rock to accommodate a division of property following a divorce, according to commission documents.
The commission also approved required annual renewals for all of the state’s dispensaries, cultivators and processors except one, which will be considered next month.
The commission also heard from an attorney representing The Source dispensary in Rogers. Michael Langley, a former director of the Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Division, asked the commission to rescind its previous vote to allow Osage Creek Dispensary to move to Springdale. Langley said not enough notice was given before the move, but Alcoholic Beverage Control Director Christy Bjornson said all of the commission’s rules were followed.
Bjornson and commission Chair James Miller agreed Bjornson would update the commission on the rules regarding such moves at next month’s meeting.
The commission will next meet at 2 p.m. on June 5 and at 2 p.m. on July 10.
