TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A local elementary student was arrested on Thursday after police allegedly found him in possession of marijuana and parts of a firearm at school.
Around 10:09 a.m. on May 15, Toledo Police responded to Longfellow Elementary School after receiving a weapons call. When officers arrived, they searched the suspected student and found he was in possession of suspected marijuana and parts of a handgun, including a magazine with ammunition.
The 12-year-old was arrested and taken to the Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center.
According to Toledo Public Schools, there was no threat made toward the school or any specific student.
