FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – It’s been smooth sailing at the new recreational marijuana shop in Moorhead nearly two weeks into opening.

The shop is owned by the White Earth Band of Chippewa tribal nation.

General manager of the dispensary in Moorhead, Jay Roberts gave an update on how the business has been going since its grand opening.

“We’re averaging about 400 people a day. The first day we were close to 700 as we took on the brunt of the traffic. I let the team know that would be the most traffic we would see in a day,” said Roberts.

Roberts and his staff have noticed how many people typically come into their store. They’ve even found what customers are buying most.

“I would definitely say Dulce, one of our favorite performing strains. It’s not just the name being as appealing as it is, but it’s one of our top performers in the ace that we have here. It’s flying off the shelves so we’re already waiting to restock here,” said Roberts.

Besides the type of items customers are buying, the shop is inviting to people from North Dakota, given that the dispensary is located right on the border of Minnesota and North Dakota.

“Definitely a lot of Fargo, folks from Fargo coming across the river. We have folks coming from further out, quite a bit more than you might expect,” said Justin Boetel, a dispensary technician.

Boetel, one of their budtenders at the store, says that he and his staff think it’s pretty cool being the first cannabis dispensary in Minnesota and they take a lot of pride in it.
