MOORHEAD — A bill raising Minnesota’s cannabis tax by 50% is headed to Gov. Tim Walz’s desk, sparking concern among THC shop owners and employees.
The bill would raise the tax on marijuana and hemp-derived cannabinoid products from 10% to 15%. According to the Minnesota Star Tribune, this change would give Minnesota one of the highest cannabis tax rates in the nation, after previously being among the lowest.
