After the case, investigating officer PC Aris Sahin said: “Cannabis and other drugs are often used to fund organised crime.

“They cause untold harm to our neighbourhoods through violence, acquisitive crimes such as theft, and the exploitation of people involved further down in the chain.

“Our team is dedicated to stopping this supply, bringing offenders to justice and ensuring the destruction of the drugs sold on by criminals who have no regard for the misery they will cause.

“This was a substantial seizure of cannabis, a Class B controlled drug, which we have prevented from reaching our streets.

“We acted on information received from the public and this shows that we will take enforcement action promptly when we have enough evidence to do so.

“If you have any suspicions about drug use, cannabis or drugs supply, please report them to us via our website or anonymously via the independent Crimestoppers charity.”
