WALLINGFORD, Conn. — The Wallingford Police Department conducted multiple compliance checks on Tuesday and discovered one establishment selling a variety of marijuana products.
According to police, Alien Vape and Smoke on North Colony Road was selling a large amount of THC vape products and other cannabis-related items such as THC-infused gummies, pre-rolled marijuana joints and flower.
The items were seized for evidence by the police department, which reports that the compliance checks were carried out by its Community Impact Unit with help from the state Department of Consumer Protection Services Tobacco Division.
In addition to Alien Vape and Smoke, inspectors visited Puff City, also on North Colony Road. Police say that Puff City was found to be compliant with state regulations.
The inspections were prompted by complaints received by Wallingford police and DCP. These reports came from people including School Resource Officers in Wallingford high schools, who expressed concerns about the illegal sale of THC and marijuana products by businesses without a dispensary license.
Wallingford police did not say what the potential consequences will be for Alien Vape and Smoke but did report that the investigation is open and active. It is unclear if or when arrests will be made.
