Police officers discovered a cannabis factory during a raid of a house in a Welsh village. Around 120 plants were found at the property in Maesycwmmer.

Officers from Caerphilly north’s neighbourhood policing team carried out a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act, at around 10am on Friday, April 19 and discovered the 120 plants. Gwent Police are now carrying out investigations and are calling for members of the community help with their fight against drugs.

Inspector Lysha Thompson said: “Our officers have carried out a search of the property and disrupted an operation growing cannabis in Gwent.
