Kansas City Chiefs offensive linemen Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick were arrested and charged with marijuana possession Friday before being released, Aaron Ladd reported for Kansas City’s KSHB 41 News.

The incident occurred in Johnson County, Kansas, according to Ladd.

Kansas is one of four states where marijuana is fully illegal, according to drug testing company DISA Global Solutions.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s booking and release report, the pair were arrested just before midnight on Friday.

They were booked on a misdemeanor first-degree marijuana/THC possession charge and released Friday afternoon on $2,500 bonds.

The two were arraigned in court Friday and are due to return on May 23.

A Chiefs spokesperson said the team is aware of the arrests but did not provide further comment, according to KSHB 41 Kansas City’s Sam Hartle.

Both players are heading into their second season with the Chiefs.

Morris appeared in 16 games with four starts for Kansas City during his rookie 2023 season.

He is expected to compete with 2024 second-round pick Kingsley Suamataia for the starting left tackle position left vacant by Donovan Smith this offseason.

Godrick has yet to make his regular-season Chiefs debut. The native of Lagos, Nigeria, joined the team through the NFL’s International Player Pathway last summer.
