CLEVELAND COUNTY, OK (KOKH) — A traffic stop initiated by Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies led to an arrest and the seizure of a firearm, drugs, and cash.

According to CCSO, on April 18, around 10:50 p.m., a CCSO Lieutenant spotted a white van speeding through a construction zone near 60th Street in Slaughterville. The lieutenant initiated a traffic stop. As the lieutenant approached the vehicle, he smelled marijuana. When asked about marijuana, the driver of the vehicle stated he did not have paperwork for it.

A CCSO K-9 Vito was then deployed to conduct an open-air sniff around the vehicle and reportedly positively alerted on the van.

CCSO said a subsequent search of the vehicle found more than 25 marijuana plants, a thermos of liquid presumed to be THC, a glass jar of THC powder, $7,600 in U.S. currency, all $100 bills, and a Smith & Wesson 9mm firearm.

Officials seized all of the items, and a warrant request was issued to the driver.
