Two men have been arrested after 120kgs of cannabis worth almost €2.5 million was seized in the Meath area.
The huge seizure was made on Tuesday, as part of an intelligence-led joint operation involving the Revenue Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).
In total, the officers seized approximately 120kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €2,400,000 in the Meath area. All of the drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for further analysis.

An Garda Síochána arrested two men in their 50s who are currently detained at a Garda Station in County Meath under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. A spokesperson for Revenue told the Irish Mirror that investigations into these seizures are ongoing.
This is the most recent cannabis seizure made by revenue officers. Over last week, revenue seized a large amount of cannabis concealed in parcels in Dublin.
Throughout the week, starting on Monday, April 15, Revenue officers, as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Milo, examining parcels at premises in Dublin seized a staggering 82 kgs of herbal cannabis and nine kgs of cannabis resin.
The illicit drugs were discovered in parcels originating from Spain and were destined for addresses throughout Leinster. Officers have estimated that the combined worth of the seizure is €1,694,000.
